Manchester United likely to be without two players vs Leicester City
Manchester United’s nightmare run
Manchester United have had an indifferent start to the 2021/22 Premier League campaign.
Yes, the Red Devils headed into the October international break sat 4th in the league and just two points off top spot.
But, it is worth noting that the sides above them have already had a much tougher fixture schedule, which has seen Liverpool, Manchester City and Chelsea all face off with each other inside the opening seven games.
Man United, on the other hand, are yet to play a big six side in the league in 2021/22.
However, that is all about to change once the international break runs its course.
When Man United are back in Premier League action on October 16th, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and co. must face a trip to Leicester.
This is followed by a midweek Champions League clash with Atalanta and then a home Premier League tie vs Liverpool on October 20th.
The tough run does not stop there, though, with United then facing Tottenham, Atalanta again, Manchester City, Watford, Villarreal, Chelsea and Arsenal.
Man United likely to be without key duo vs Leicester
Ahead of their return to action, Man United have already had some tough news regarding their personnel from South America.
As reported by the BBC’s Simon Stone, Man United are expecting Fred and Edinson Cavani to play in all three of their countries’ World Cup qualifiers this month, the last of which sees Brazil and Uruguay face off at 1:30 am UK time on Friday the 15th of October.
As a result, Stone reports that there is ‘little chance’ of the pair being involved vs Leicester the following day:
Along with others, Man Utd expecting Fred and Edinson Cavani to play in all three South American WC qualifiers, first one overnight, third 0130 kick-off BST next Friday morning, so little chance of them being involved at Leicester the following day.
