Man United’s fans can’t believe how badly Harry Maguire defended Daka strike amid claims ‘he was at fault for all 4 goals’
The Harry Maguire pile-on owing to the Manchester United star’s performance against Leicester City on Saturday has since continued a full 24 hours later.
Daka rounds out the scoring
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s men of course marked their return to action following the international break yesterday afternoon.
On the back of an altogether concerning stretch of form, the Red Devils made the trip to Leicester, hoping to take advantage of the Foxes’ own struggles, to return to winning ways.
When the 90 minutes were said and done at the King Power Stadium, though, United’s woes were only compounded…
The latest in a string of disjointed performances, particularly from a defensive standpoint, saw Brendan Rodgers’ hosts take full advantage on their way to a 4-2 win.
Youri Tielemans, Caglar Soyuncu, Jamie Vardy and substitute Patson Daka were all on target, rendering a Mason Greenwood stunner and Marcus Rashford’s returning strike irrelevant upon the final whistle sounding.

‘Embarrassing’
Man United, in turn, have slipped a full five points off the early pace of table-topping Chelsea, with a daunting stretch of high-profile fixtures now awaiting over the weeks ahead.
It has therefore proven altogether unsurprising to see the club’s fanbase up in arms over the last 24 hours.
The likes of Paul Pogba, Jadon Sancho and boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer have all been singled out for deserved criticism, on the back of a day to forget for all associated with the Red Devils.
As the dust settles, and others see their names fade into the background, though, the pile-on when it comes to the display of one United star in particular has since continued on Sunday.
The man in question? Harry Maguire.
English international Maguire was a surprise inclusion from the off versus Leicester, after failing to train all week amid ongoing efforts to recover from a calf injury.
And Solskjaer’s decision to reintroduce his captain to the fray ahead of schedule ultimately proved costly, as Maguire went on to endure a nightmare 90 minutes at the King Power.
One particular instance of inexcusable defending – leading directly to Leicester’s 4th of the day – could not be attributed to a lack of match sharpness, though, with the United faithful, in turn, having since not been shy in taking aim at their side’s supposed leader:
Someone tell me how Maguire has lost daka from here ? Embarrassing performance #LEIMUN pic.twitter.com/gH0LBsgxoh

Some have even gone as far as to suggest that Maguire was directly at fault for all four of the goals netted by Brendan Rodgers’ hosts on Saturday:
Maguire was literally at fault for all the 4 goals yesterday

Goal 1 – Maguire loses the ball.
Goal 2 – Maguire plays Soyuncu onside.
Goal 3 – Maguire doesn’t stay with Vardy.
Goal 4 – Maguire loses Daka at the back post.Has one man ever cost a team 4 goals in one game before?

Have a look at Maguire’s involvement in all four of Leicester’s goals. Lost the ball for the 1st, played Soyuncu onside for the 2nd, caught in no mans land for the 3rd, lost Daka for the 4th. He’s been error prone for a while. Him and Ole should be in the firing line.

Gives the ball away for the first goal, plays Söyüncü onside for the second, doesnt mark Vardy for the third, and loses Daka for the fouth. An absolute howler from Maguire.
