Man United fans send Anthony Martial message to Ole Gunnar Solskjaer following opener vs Everton

Man United vs Everton

Saturday’s early Premier League kick-off would see Manchester United play host to Everton.

The Red Devils were looking to bounce back from their 1-0 loss to Aston Villa in the league last weekend.

Everton, meanwhile, were looking to continue their fine start to the season, but would have to do so without key players such as Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Richarlison.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer made a number of changes for Man United on Saturday, with Cristiano Ronaldo, Paul Pogba and Jadon Sancho starting on the bench.

One of the players to come into the United starting eleven in place of said players was Anthony Martial.

The Frenchman has not been in the best of form over the last year or so. And after scoring just four goals in 22 league outings last term, plus the arrival of Ronaldo and Cavani staying, Martial’s time as a regular no.9 for Man United did look to be up.

And, though he did start up front vs Southampton in gameweek two, Martial has now not featured as a striker in the league or Champions League for a while now.

On Saturday, the 25-year-old was deployed from the left-wing in the first 45. Martial did not have a great first half and missed a big chance from an Aaron Wan-Bissaka cross early on.

However, in the dying moments of the first 45, Martial would receive the ball from Bruno Fernandes before cutting inside and curling an effort past Jordan Pickford to give Man United the lead.

This, in turn, has prompted Man United fans to take to Twitter and send Ole Gunnar Solskjaer a clear message that Martial is a left-winger and should be played there:
