Jamie Carragher suggests former Liverpool boss should be “top of the list” for Jurgen Klopp’s replacement
Klopp’s brilliant success
Such are the achievements of Jurgen Klopp since he took over at Liverpool in October 2015 that he will largely decide when his time on Merseyside is up, having brought a first Premier League, and a sixth Champions League to the red half of the city.
Their form has continued too, with the Reds tipped to challenge for the top spots again in all competitions following a poor season last time out.

Were Klopp to leave however, Jamie Carragher has suggested that one man should replace him.
Carra recommends Rodgers
Speaking on the possibility of the German departing, former Liverpool star and now Sky Sports pundit Jamie Carragher was quick to make his opinions known, gushing in his praise for former boss Brendan Rodgers, currently at Leicester City.
The defender said:
“I’m a huge fan of Brendan Rodgers and think he’s a brilliant manager. I worked with him for 12 months at Liverpool and I think this job came too early for him. If Jurgen Klopp was to leave Liverpool tomorrow Brendan Rodgers would be top of the list.
However, he was quick to recognise that the appointment of Rodgers seems unlikely, saying:
“That’s not going to happen because he’s been here [Liverpool] before – but done a brilliant job at Leicester. It is a bump in the road and I almost feel for Leicester because they’ve fell away at the end and it’s almost looked at negatively.
“They’re a really good side, a great club in how they recruit but it’s still overachieving what they’ve been doing in the mix of that top four under Brendan Rodgers year in, year out.”
Should Klopp depart in the future, who should Liverpool go for?
