FPL fans take note: Insight into Raphinha’s chances of featuring for Leeds vs Southampton
Raphinha called up for Brazil
The latest international break of the season is now upon us.
Unlike the September break, Brazilian Premier League stars are set to feature for their country this month.
The Premier League agreement to stop players from travelling to countries on the UK government’s Covid-19 red list would see the likes of Raphinha, Allison, Thiago Silva and more stay in England during the September break.
However, as reported elsewhere, the government has since agreed a compromise with FIFA that will allow fully vaccinated players returning from red-list countries and their national team bubbles to play and train with their clubs, albeit while quarantining at ‘bespoke’ facilities.
One such player looks set to be Raphinha, who has now joined up with Brazil:

Raphinha’s chances of featuring for Leeds vs Southampton
Brazil are set to play out three matches during the October international break.
Their first clash will see them face off with Venezuela on Friday the 8th of October at 12:30 am UK time.
Brazil then have a match with Colombia on the 10th of October before facing off with Uruguay on Friday the 15th of October at 1:30 am UK time.
And it is this final clash that looked set to cause an issue for Leeds and FPL fans, as the Peacocks are back in Premier League action at 3 pm UK time on Saturday the 16th of October.
With such a short space of time between Brazil’s last match and Leeds’ meeting with Southampton, it did look as though Raphinha would be forced to sit the clash at St Mary’s out.
However, the Yorkshire Evening Post have reported that Raphinha will quarantine at either a club facility or a hotel chosen by Leeds and that Leeds expect Raphinha to be present and available for selection vs Southampton.
Leeds United expect Raphinha, who has joined up with the Brazil squad for this month’s trio of games, to be present and available for the game at Southampton.https://t.co/eeesZ0dV8q#lufc
