Dean Smith and co. reinvested that money in the squad, bringing in Danny Ings, Leon Bailey and Emiliano Buendia, and at the moment, the Villians are not looking to miss their former talisman too much as they have picked up 3 wins and 1 draw from their opening 7 games.

However, there are major doubts surrounding three players in Dean Smith’s squad. Emi Martinez and Douglas Luiz both represented their National side’s in the early hours of Friday morning, while Leon Bailey limped out of action in their last Premier League clash.
For the international players, there is good news, with Smith announcing that “they will be in the squad”, due to the fact that “they are big players for us, important players.”

However, there is more sour news on Leon Bailey, with Smith revealing that he will not be fit, saying:
“Unfortunately, Leon hasn’t ticked all the boxes for the medical department, we are hopeful that he will be back in training after the Wolves game.”
