Why Liverpool is the perfect place for Allan Saint-Maximin

Allan Saint-Maximin linked with 3 Premier League sides

Allan Saint-Maximin has been one of the very, very few bright spots for a Newcastle United side looking set for a relegation battle this term.

With the injury-prone Callum Wilson once again sidelined, the burden has fallen solely on Saint-Maximin to provide some form of attacking threat for the Magpies.

And, to his credit, the Frenchman has done what he can so far this term, netting two goals and three assists in six Premier League outings.

The winger, though, with respect to Newcastle, could probably be doing a lot more with his career going forward.

A report from Calciomercato recently suggested that all of Chelsea, Liverpool and Everton – Rafa Benitez’s new club – are interested in the 24-year-old.

Why Saint-Maximin should join Liverpool

In 101’s opinion, though, it is Liverpool who Saint-Maximin should be looking to join.

One reason for this is due to Liverpool likely needing a replacement for Roberto Firmino in the near future, as well as possibly Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah in a few years.

And with Saint-Maximin able to play, and excel, all across the frontline, he seems like the perfect player to help add some much-needed depth to Liverpool’s attacking line.

Granted, Diogo Jota does this currently, but outside of the Portuguese, the Reds have very little quality – something ASM would fix.

The second reason Liverpool should be looking at Saint-Maximin is Jurgen Klopp’s track record of improving stars.

Despite being a top club, Liverpool do not go out and spend huge, huge sums on ready-made top stars.

Instead, their policy generally involves buying good players and making them into great ones.

This, under Klopp, has been seen with players like Salah, Mane, Georginio Wijnaldum, Virgil van Dijk and Roberto Firmino.

Yes, all of these players were already good and established in Europe’s top five leagues. But under Klopp’s tutelage they have become some of the best in the world.

And whilst Saint-Maximin may not reach the heights of Salah, there is no doubt he would improve a great deal should he sign for Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool.
