Amazon Prime's The Wilds is full of strong personalities. From Rachel's headstrong attitude to Martha's never-ending optimism, there is never a dull moment. Every character displays unique traits that match with a Zodiac sign, like when Martha's need to people-please drives her to kill a goat.
All the girls come from drastically different backgrounds, and this has turned them into drastically different people. The Wilds is a character-driven story, so looking at the characters through the Zodiac will help fans to understand them better.
12 Aries - Toni Shalifoe
From the first moment the audience meets Toni it becomes very apparent she is an Aries. Aries are known to be loud and passionate, sometimes even impulsive. Toni tends to embody the more chaotic traits of this sign. Toni is a fierce and loyal friend, oftentimes going too far to prove it. It is eventually revealed that Toni once had a girlfriend at school, but they broke up after Toni's short temper continued to cause friction between them. Toni is impulsive, often fighting people she believes have wronged her or her loved ones. Her brave yet impulsive nature is very akin to an Aries.
11 Taurus - Dot Campbell
Taurus are known for their steady character and patient nature. All of the girls, Dot definitely fits the bill best. Before the plane crash, Dot was responsible for looking after her ill father. She didn't have time to do most high school things like go to movies or hang out with friends. This carries through to the island where Dot is often the peacemaker. She doesn't see the point in arguing with the other girls, so she is often comforting the others. Like a Taurus, she is very pragmatic. Dot has a surprising amount of survival knowledge that comes in handy many times after the crash. Without her, the other girls would have had a much tougher time surviving.
10 Gemini - Daniel Faber
Daniel is a lesser-known character in the show, but no less important. Daniel best fits in with Gemini. He is curious and clever, and it's this curiosity that urges Daniel to join Gretchen's questionable cause. However, Geminis are also one of the more manipulative signs. Daniel's time with the girls is spent both trying to understand their experience and make them feel guilty for the things they had done. He is specifically cruel to Leah. He is able to create a space where she feels safe sharing while also constantly undermining her. Daniel definitely represents the dark side of Geminis.
9 Cancer - Martha Blackburn
Martha is probably the kindest of all the girls. She hates any kind of conflict and is full of endless optimism. She can also be sensitive and people-pleasing which is makes Cancer her best fit. She spends much of the show trying to placate Toni's endless temper. When the girls find a goat on the island, Martha refuses to let it be killed. In the end, she wants to prove herself to the other girls and so she kills the goat herself. Martha's need to be in constant good standing with the whole group fits perfectly with Cancers.
8 Leo - Shelby Goodkind
Leos often naturally command the spotlight and use this position to inspire others. This is exactly how beauty queen Shelby conducts herself. Shelby initially comes off as just another shallow beauty pageant girl when she attempts to break the ice between the girls on the plane.
After the crash, however, Shelby becomes more genuine. She has no problem pulling her own weight and stepping into the leadership position when needed. She quickly befriends Martha, helping her to tend to her hurt ankle and building her self-confidence. Like Leos, she is independent, but that doesn't stop her from nurturing those around her.
7 Virgo - Nora Reid
Nora is the quiet academic of the group. As a Virgo, she is incredibly empathic and knowledgeable. Before the crash, Nora was a star student with a boyfriend she cared deeply for. Unfortunately, her more sensitive side kicked in and she broke up with her boyfriend when her twin sister, Rachel, was not fond of him. On the island, all Nora wants is to help Rachel work through her demons. Virgos constantly offer themselves as comfort to those around them, and Nor fits this description perfectly.
6 Libra - Jeanette Dao/Linh Bach
Jeanette, otherwise known as Linh, is an interesting character. When fans first met her, they know her as Jeanette. Like Libras, Jeanette is a quirky, social young girl who is a bit excitable. However, she dies in the very first episode and it is later revealed that Jeanette was really a spy named Linh. Linh is fun and friendly just like Libras. She is a big fan of Gretchen's work and would love to be a part of it. Because of trauma in her past, she wants to work against the patriarchy alongside Gretchen. Libras have a very strong sense of justice, just like Linh.
5 Scorpio - Fatin Jadmani
Scorpios are often stereotyped as extremely sexual, and this is true to Fatin. In the beginning, she is simply characterized as the girl who sleeps with older guys. However, just like Scorpios, there is more to her. Fatin is very private. Fans don't learn her backstory until halfway through the season. When she discovered her father cheating on her mother, she exposed him. Unfortunately, this backfires and she is sent to Dawn of Eve. With the girls, Fatin has a wise side. She coaxes Leah's backstory from her and convinces her to cut ties with her ex. Like Scorpios, Fatin is multi-faceted.
4 Sagittarius - Gretchen Klein
Gretchen is the evil scientist character behind the entire plot of The Wilds. Like Sagittarius, she is philosophical and has a love for knowledge. Her goal with the Dawn of Eve experiment is to see how society would progress in a world without the patriarchy. Sagittarius' often hit the ground running, determined to make the most of life. Gretchen is so determined to see her experiment come true that she does things like checking herself into a psychiatric hospital to recruit Daniel and kidnapping young girls. She doesn't seem to see what is wrong with all this. She simply has a strong thirst for knowledge, just like a Sagittarius.
3 Capricorn - Rachel Reid
Although Rachel and Nora are twins, they don't appear to have much in common. Rachel is very much a Capricorn. She is practical and dependable. She is constantly looking for new strategies to survive on the island. As an Earth sign, Capricorns are often perfectionists, and, in Rachel's case, this is especially true.
Rachel runs into trouble many times due to her perfectionist nature, namely when she developed bulimia to cope with the pressures of her diving career. Even after crashing on the island and being freed from that pressure, she continues to push herself and the others past their limits.
2 Aquarius - Dean Young
Dean is, presumably, the FBI agent working alongside Daniel Faber to assess the girls after they come off the island. As an Aquarius, he is independent, yet friendly. He is firm with the girls in their interviews but is definitely the more friendly one of the two interviewers. Aquariuses are often known for their tendency to assist those around them. In the finale, Leah convinces Young to let her go outside for some fresh air. In reality, Leah has ulterior motives for being let out, but Dean's Aquarius shines through here and he can't stop himself from helping her.
1 Pisces - Leah Riike
Pisces are known to be both romantic and sensitive. This fits Leah perfectly. She comes to the Dawn of Eve retreat but she is struggling to overcome a breakup. When she falls for an older man she believes she has met the love of her life. However, things fall through when the man discovers Leah lied to him about her age. On the island, Leah tends to be the most emotionally volatile. She can't seem to reconcile with what has happened to her and this leads to many outbursts. Leah's character is heavily based around romance and her emotions, both of which play big parts in the personality of an Aquarius.
